How To Fit Shaft Anodes

Zinc Shaft Collar Anodes

If you sail in salt water, you'll most likely want to go for a zinc anode. Zinc is our most popular choice for shaft collar anodes, owing to zinc anodes density and structural composition that enables the alloy to offer far superior impact strength in comparison with aluminium shaft collar anodes and magnesium shaft collar anodes.

Typically located near the propeller of the boat, shaft collar anodes are used to prevent the propeller from sliding along the shaft. The collar anode works in the same way as a regular shaft anode; it attracts and neutralizes any stray electrical current that may be present in the water, protecting the shaft and the collar from corrosion.
