Installed onto the saildrive of your vessel, saildrive anodes are made of a more reactive metal (in this case, zinc), which acts as a "sacrifice" to protect the saildrive from corrosion. Because of its density and structural composition, zinc anodes offer significantly better impact strength, in comparison with magnesium saildrive anodes and aluminium saildrive anodes, which can be critical in some marine environments. In addition, zinc anodes provide a more even decay across the anode.
